I am an economist at the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, an independent research institute providing economic analyses and projections. I work in the Sector of Climate and Built Environment, where I focus on researching green technology adoption (such as EV, solar PV).
Before joining the CPB, I pursued my PhD at the Department of Spatial Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Tinbergen Institute under the supervision of Carolyn Fischer, Erik Ansink, Jetske Bouma, and Mark Koeste. My PhD research focuses on how economic policy instruments can help shift consumers' diets from animal-based to plant-based proteins. More specifically, I look into price-based policies (and their behavioral perspectives), and informational instruments. My PhD project is in collaboration with Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL), Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM), and Statistics Netherlands (CBS).
I am enthusiastic about policy-oriented economic research, where I can use frontier economic approaches to solve emerging policy issues while making academic contributions.
I am also a passionate chef, an adventurous traveler, and a photographer outside of my professional life, see More about me for more information.
